These six tasks use original passages written for practice. Write each answer on paper first, then open the model.
The set belongs to SPM subjects and learning resources. The structured answer self-review tool gives you a checklist for your own paragraph.
Tasks
Task 1: 雨停了,阿嬷仍坐在门口,手里的伞没有合上。 (The rain stops, but Grandmother keeps sitting at the door, her umbrella not closed.) Write one sentence of summary and one of analysis.
Answer
Summary: Grandmother sits at the door with an umbrella after the rain has stopped.
Analysis: the umbrella “没有合上” suggests she has not accepted that her waiting is over.
The summary can be written without reading closely, while the analysis depends on a specific phrase.
Task 2: 父亲每晚都把店里的灯留着一盏。 (Every night Father leaves one lamp on in the shop.) What does this suggest about Father? Support your answer with one precise detail.
Answer
It suggests Father hopes someone will come home. “每晚” (every night) turns the lamp into a repeated habit, and “留着一盏” (leaves one on) shows he leaves a light for another person. The detail is the repeated action, and the effect is quiet longing.
Task 3: 她把旧相册擦得很亮,却始终没有翻开。 (She polishes the old album until it shines, but never opens it.) State one claim and explain the contrast.
Answer
Claim: she values her memories but fears facing them. The contrast is between “擦得很亮” (care) and “没有翻开” (avoidance). Together they show that she protects the album without being ready to read what is inside.
Task 4: Plan one comparison row for Task 1 and Task 3.
Answer
Shared idea: an object shows a feeling the character does not say. Task 1: the unclosed umbrella shows hope. Task 3: the unopened album shows fear of memory. Difference: the umbrella points to the future, since she is waiting, while the album points to the past.
Task 5: Question: How does the writer show the boy’s shame? Passage: 他把成绩单折成四折,塞进书包最深处。 (He folds his report card into four and pushes it to the bottom of his bag.) Write a paragraph of three sentences.
Answer
The writer shows shame through hiding. Folding the report “成四折” makes it small, and pushing it to “最深处” places it where no one will look. These actions suggest he wants the result to disappear without anyone asking.
Task 6: Mark each sentence R or D for the question “How does the writer show Grandmother’s hope?” (1) Grandmother lives in a lane. (2) Her head lifts at every footstep. (3) The writer uses Chinese characters well.
Answer
(1) D, since it gives background not in the text. (2) R, since it names a detail that shows hope. (3) D, since it is praise with no detail.
If you got these wrong
- Task 1 and Task 6: review summary versus analysis and reviewing a paragraph for relevance.
- Task 2, Task 3 and Task 5: review supporting an interpretation with one precise detail.
- Task 4: review planning a supported comparison.
