SPM online tuition: your questions answered

Remote online tuition workspace with paper exercises and headphones

Quick answers about the trial, the teachers and the lessons, so you can decide before you message us.

These are the questions parents and students ask before starting. Each answer is short, with a link to the page that explains it in full.

What is the trial, and what does it cost?

The one-hour trial class is a real lesson, from RM50. The rate depends on the teacher and is agreed before the trial, as set out on the fees page.

How do the lessons work?

Lessons are online and one-to-one: you enquire on WhatsApp, a teacher is assigned, and the trial is arranged. How our online one-to-one tuition works shows the steps.

Before the first lesson, the online lesson setup checklist helps you check the device, the connection and a quiet space.

Who teaches, and in which language?

Experienced teachers are assigned by the team. Lessons are in English or Bahasa Melayu, depending on the subject, and the teacher explains clearly in whichever suits the student. Understanding website language and teaching language explains how that fits with exam papers.

How do we pay, and how do we reschedule?

Fees are paid monthly, based on the number of classes that month, as set out on the fees page. To move a class, give at least 1 day’s notice and agree a new time with the teacher.

Which subjects can you study?

Pick your subject from the tuition overview, which lists the SPM subjects with a page for each. If you cannot take tuition for all of them, start with the subject that needs the most help.

What if it is not the right fit?

After the trial, you decide whether the teacher is a good fit. If not, you can ask for another teacher. For what comes next, read what happens after the trial.

Where can you ask something else?

Send your question through the contact page on WhatsApp. Include the subject, the form and the topic, and the team will reply.

Common questions

What is the trial class and what does it cost?

It is a one-hour online lesson with an experienced teacher assigned to you, from RM50. The rate depends on the teacher and is the same as that teacher's normal hourly rate. You agree the fee before the trial.

How do online one-to-one lessons work?

You send an enquiry on WhatsApp, the team assigns a teacher and shares the rate, and you book the trial if you are happy. The student has the teacher's full attention for the lesson.

What do we need to join a lesson?

A device with a working internet connection, and a quiet place to talk and write. A phone can work, but a laptop or tablet makes writing and working easier to follow.

How long are the lessons?

Lessons are usually about 1.5 hours per class. More than one class a week is possible when needed and the teacher has time, and you agree the schedule with the teacher.

Who will my teacher be?

An experienced teacher is assigned by our team based on the subject, the form, the hard topics and the teaching language you mention. After the trial, you decide whether the teacher is a good fit.

Which languages are lessons taught in?

Lessons are in English or Bahasa Melayu, depending on the subject. Subjects examined in Malay, such as Accounting, are taught in BM, and the teacher explains in English where it helps. Exam answers stay in the language of the paper.

How do we pay?

Fees are paid monthly, based on the number of classes that month. You agree the teacher's rate before the trial, and the team arranges the payment details with you on WhatsApp.

How much notice do we give to reschedule a class?

At least 1 day's notice. Message the teacher or the team on WhatsApp as early as you can, and a new time can be agreed together.

Which subjects are available?

The service covers SPM subjects, from core subjects such as Mathematics, Bahasa Melayu, English and Sejarah to Science subjects, Additional Mathematics and elective papers. Check the tuition pages for your subject.

Can I change teacher if it is not working?

Yes. After the trial, if the teacher is not a good fit, you can ask for another teacher.

Can lessons follow the school syllabus?

Yes. Lessons can follow the school syllabus or focus on topics you choose. You can also ask the teacher for a monthly progress review.

If your question is not here, put it in your first WhatsApp message with the subject and form, and the team will answer it while arranging the trial.
