The trial is a paid one-hour online lesson with an experienced teacher assigned for your subject, from RM50. It is a real taught class, and you agree the fee before you book.
What should a parent know first?
Parents arrange the trial, so the first WhatsApp message is yours to send. The team replies with the teacher’s rate, and you book only if you are happy with it.
After the trial, you decide whether the teacher is a good fit. If not, you can ask for another teacher.
The lesson is in English or Bahasa Melayu, depending on the subject, and the teacher explains clearly in whichever suits the student.
What happens in the hour?
The teacher starts from the student’s work, not from a lecture. A typical trial follows this outline.
- First minutes. The teacher asks what the student finds hard and looks at the questions the student brought.
- Middle of the hour. The student attempts a question while the teacher watches the working. The teacher finds where the reasoning slips and teaches that point.
- Last minutes. The student tries a fresh question alone, and the teacher sums up what to practise before the next lesson.
The aim is that the student leaves able to do one thing they could not do before.
What does the trial cost?
The trial starts from RM50 for the hour. The rate depends on the teacher, and the trial is charged at the same hourly rate as that teacher’s normal classes.
The fees page explains the rate in full, and what the trial price means adds more detail.
How do we prepare?
Choose the topic that hurts most, for example a chapter where marks dropped. The trial lesson agenda builder helps you list questions and set a goal for the hour.
How to prepare for a useful paid trial adds tips for parents. Check the online lesson readiness checklist for the device and the space.
How do we judge whether it worked?
Ask the student to explain, in their own words, the idea the teacher taught. Then ask them to try one new question alone.
How to judge whether a trial lesson was useful gives a parent a calm way to do this. The after-trial reflection and discussion checklist helps the student write it down.
What comes next?
If the teacher is a good fit, what happens after the trial covers the lesson length, how often to meet and the monthly progress review. If you would like a different teacher, you can ask for one.
To begin, send a WhatsApp enquiry with the subject and the form. The whole process is on how our online one-to-one SPM tuition works.
For students reading this
A parent arranges the trial, so this page works best when you read it together. Send the page to your parent, tell them which subject you want help with and what feels hard, and ask them to send the WhatsApp message.
Then we arrange the hour with a teacher assigned to that subject.
