Our online one-to-one SPM Additional Mathematics tuition gives each student an experienced teacher assigned to them, with lessons built around the questions that student cannot start. The first class is a one-hour trial (from RM50).
Who does Additional Mathematics tuition help?
Marks fall in three places, and each needs a different lesson.
- Starting unfamiliar questions. The student follows examples but cannot see which topic a new question belongs to.
- Algebra underneath. Factorising, rearranging and indices slow every topic, so errors appear in topics the student actually understands.
- Multi-step working. The first steps are right, then a sign or a bracket goes wrong in the third line.
A teacher who watches you work sees which one it is in the first few questions.
What does a lesson look like: choosing a method versus substituting?
Here is a worked example of the contrast a teacher draws. Compare two questions.
A: Solve x² + 5x + 6 = 0. B: Find the range of values of k for which x² + kx + 9 = 0 has two distinct real roots.
Question A names its method in the wording, so the student factorises: (x + 2)(x + 3) = 0. Question B never says discriminant. The phrase “two distinct real roots” is the signal, and it means b² − 4ac > 0.
Here a = 1, b = k and c = 9, so k² − 36 > 0. That gives k² > 36, so k < −6 or k > 6.
The skill in B is reading the wording and selecting the method. In a lesson, the teacher gives the student a new question, asks what the wording signals, and only then lets them calculate. That choice is practised until it becomes a habit.
Will the pace suit a student who must revisit algebra?
The pace follows the student, which is the main advantage of one-to-one. If the algebra needs repair, the teacher works on that step for as long as it takes, then connects it back to the current topic.
The algebra step repair trainer lets you practise the repair on your own between lessons. The prerequisite gap finder helps you name the gap before the trial.
What can and cannot one-to-one lessons do?
Lessons can rebuild understanding, teach method selection and give immediate feedback on working. They work best when the student brings questions they could not start.
They do not replace practising past-year questions yourself.
How does starting work?
- Message us on WhatsApp with the form and the topics that feel hardest.
- We assign an experienced Additional Mathematics teacher and arrange the one-hour trial class (from RM50).
- After the trial, you decide whether the teacher is a good fit, and you can ask for another teacher if not. You and the teacher then agree the schedule and lesson focus.
How our online tuition works covers the process, and choosing a useful lesson focus helps you decide what to bring.
