Our online one-to-one SPM Physics tuition gives each student an experienced Physics teacher assigned to them, with lessons built around the questions that student gets wrong. The first class is a one-hour trial from RM50.
Who Physics tuition helps most
Physics marks usually fall in three places, and each needs a different kind of lesson.
- Formula selection. The student can recite every formula in Forces and Motion but freezes when a question describes a situation in words.
- Multi-step reasoning. The first step is right, then the working stops, because the student cannot see what the answer to step one is for.
- Graphs and experiments. Reading a gradient, naming variables or explaining a trend in a sentence.
A one-to-one teacher sees which of these is happening within the first few questions, because they watch the student work instead of marking the final answer.
What a lesson looks like: choosing the right formula
Here is a worked example of the reasoning a teacher models in a lesson.
A trolley of mass 2 kg starts from rest and reaches 6 m/s in 3 s. Find the force acting on it.
Many students reach for F = ma and stop, because acceleration is not given. The teacher asks one question instead: what do we know, and what does each formula need?
| Known | Needed for F = ma |
|---|---|
| m = 2 kg | m (have it) |
| u = 0, v = 6 m/s, t = 3 s | a (missing) |
The missing piece comes from a motion equation: a = (v − u) ÷ t = (6 − 0) ÷ 3 = 2 m/s². Then F = ma = 2 × 2 = 4 N.
The Physics is not hard. The skill is seeing that a question can need two formulas in sequence. In tuition, the student repeats that decision on new questions until they make it without the prompt.
What one-to-one lessons can and cannot do
Lessons can rebuild understanding, practise exam-style reasoning and give immediate feedback on working. They work best when the student brings the questions they got wrong.
They do not replace school practical sessions. What we can say is that a student who understands why an answer is right is far harder to shake in the exam hall.
How starting works
For Physics, the most useful WhatsApp message names the form, the chapter the last test covered and whether the trouble is calculations, graphs or explaining experiments. That tells us which experienced Physics teacher to assign, and it shapes the one-hour trial so it starts on the right question.
Read more about the one-hour trial class or how our online tuition works. If you are still deciding, online one-to-one tuition versus group tuition lays out the trade-offs fairly.
