Our online one-to-one SPM Chemistry tuition gives a student an experienced Chemistry teacher who finds where the reasoning stops and starts the lesson from there. The first class is a one-hour trial class (from RM50), with the fee agreed before it starts.

Who Chemistry tuition helps most

Chemistry asks the student to move between three levels: particles, equations and numbers. Students usually struggle at a link between two of them.

  • Particles to equation. The student knows what happens in a reaction but cannot write the balanced equation for it.
  • Equation to calculation. The equation is right, yet the mole ratio is used the wrong way round.
  • Calculation to meaning. The answer is computed but the student cannot say what it tells us about the reaction.

A one-to-one teacher can hear which link breaks because the student narrates the working.

What a lesson looks like: particles to equation to calculation

This is a worked example.

2.4 g of magnesium reacts completely with excess dilute hydrochloric acid. What volume of hydrogen forms at room conditions? (Ar of Mg = 24; molar volume at room conditions = 24 dm³ mol⁻¹)

The teacher breaks the question into the three levels.

  1. Particles. Magnesium atoms give electrons to hydrogen ions, and hydrogen gas forms.
  2. Equation. Mg + 2HCl → MgCl₂ + H₂. One mole of Mg gives one mole of H₂.
  3. Calculation. Moles of Mg = 2.4 ÷ 24 = 0.1 mol. Moles of H₂ = 0.1 mol. Volume = 0.1 × 24 = 2.4 dm³.

The key check is the ratio. The student says it aloud: one to one, so the moles match. If the equation had been 2Al with 3H₂, the ratio would change the answer, and that is the next example in the lesson.

The aim is that the student reasons through the three levels without being led.

What one-to-one lessons can and cannot do

Lessons can repair gaps in understanding, practise calculation routines, and give immediate feedback on working. The teacher adapts to the topic the student brings.

School practical sessions stay at school. A student who can explain why the ratio matters handles an unfamiliar question with more confidence.

How starting works

  1. Message us on WhatsApp with the form and the Chemistry chapters that feel hardest.
  2. We assign an experienced Chemistry teacher and arrange the one-hour trial class (from RM50), with the fee agreed first.
  3. After the trial, you decide whether the teacher is a good fit, and can ask for another teacher if not.

Read about the paid one-hour trial and how our online tuition works. For help planning the early lessons, see choosing a useful Chemistry tuition focus.

Keep learning for free

The SPM Chemistry learning guide has free lessons, and the glossary explains the terms. The prerequisite gap finder helps you find where to begin, and the after-trial reflection checklist helps after the first class.

What families tell us

  • I got an A for Chemistry! And 68 for Add Maths, very close to a B.

  • He got all A's for 5 subjects so far, including 81% for Math. Only 2 students got an A.

    Parent · Maths

  • I got 6As! So grateful I got a B+ for Add Maths, from failing every time.

Common questions

How will the teacher find where my child's understanding stops?

By asking the student to talk through a question step by step, not just checking the final answer. The point where the student hesitates or guesses is the gap, and the lesson starts there.

Is Chemistry tuition suitable for a student who is failing?

Yes. The teacher begins with what the student already does correctly, such as naming ions or balancing simple equations, then builds towards calculations one link at a time.

Does the teacher cover practical and experiment questions?

The teacher can explain how experiments are planned, how results are recorded and how to write conclusions. Practical sessions assessed at school are still done at school.

How much does the tuition cost?

The first class is a one-hour trial (from RM50). The fee is agreed with you before the trial at the teacher's hourly rate, and lessons are usually about 1.5 hours, with the schedule agreed with your teacher.

Which language are lessons taught in?

Lessons are in English or Bahasa Melayu, depending on the subject, and the teacher explains clearly in whichever suits the student. Tell us your preference when you enquire. Exam answers stay in the language the student sits the paper in.

If Chemistry marks drop at the step where a balanced equation turns into a calculation, a one-to-one lesson can find exactly which link is missing. Tell us the chapter where it starts to blur. Parents usually arrange the trial.
