Study place and lesson readiness planner

You have no quiet room at home and cannot tell whether another place suits a video lesson.

This planner helps you work out whether a study place can really host an online lesson, and get yourself ready for the lesson. It suits students who share a room or a device, or who cannot count on a quiet corner at home.

Everything you enter stays on this device.

What is this planner for?

A place can look ideal and still fail on one detail, such as a rule against calls. You only find that out after the trip.

The planner lays your needs next to what the provider’s own page says. Anything unknown is marked Not verified, so you know which question to ask before you travel.

How do I use it?

  1. Pick your state or territory, and tick what you need: video calls, Wi-Fi, a quiet space, a power socket.
  2. Enter your lesson start time, length and one-way travel time.
  3. Add a place. Copy its name, page address, the date you read the page and the hours. Set each detail to Yes, No or leave it Not verified.
  4. Read the comparison, and ask the provider about every detail that is still Not verified.
  5. Print the readiness checklist for the day of the lesson.

How does it work?

Each recorded detail has three values: yes, no or not verified. The tool treats Not verified as unknown and never as yes.

A place is called a match only when every need you ticked is recorded as yes, the opening hours cover your arrival and the end of the lesson, and the source date is within the last 12 months. A recorded no ends the comparison for that place. An unknown detail stops it short of suitable.

Your arrival time is the lesson start minus your travel time. The tool refuses a plan that runs past midnight or has an invalid time or length.

A worked example

This is a worked example. Sara has a lesson at 16:00 for 60 minutes and 15 minutes of travel, so she needs to arrive by 15:45. She ticks video calls and Wi-Fi.

She records a community library with Wi-Fi as yes and its call rule as blank. The tool says Not verified, so the library is not treated as suitable yet.

Sara reads the library’s page again, finds a rule on calls, updates the record and sees the result change. The tool never made that decision for her.

What are the limits?

No study places are bundled, so the quality of the comparison depends on what you copy from the provider. The tool cannot check that a page is current, that a room is quiet or that staff will allow a call.

It stores nothing and sends nothing. Public places are independent of the tuition team, and nothing here implies a partnership or a physical tuition centre.

Where does this help?

Planning around where you study matters in every state. See how online lessons fit around the school week in Johor and Kedah, or in areas such as Johor Bahru and Alor Setar.

For the lesson itself, try the online lesson readiness checklist. If you would like a teacher to arrange a lesson time around your week, see the one-hour trial class (from RM50).

Common questions

Does the tool know which libraries or halls near me allow video calls?

No. It holds no list of places. You type in what a provider's own page says, and any detail you leave blank stays Not verified. The tool never assumes a place has Wi-Fi or allows calls.

Why does it say Not verified instead of suitable?

If you need video calls and the place's call rule is unknown, the honest answer is that nobody has checked. The tool will not call a place suitable until every detail you need is recorded as yes.

Does the tool use my location?

No. There is no GPS request and no address box. You choose a state or territory by hand, and what you type about your town is not saved. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Are these places connected to SPM Tuition?

No. Libraries, halls and other public places are independent of the tuition team. There is no partnership, endorsement or branch, so always confirm rules and opening hours with the provider.

Online one-to-one lessons can be fitted around your week once you know where and when you can join, and the teacher can agree a time with you that suits the place you have checked.

  • Online one-to-one lessons for your child with an experienced teacher.
  • Your first class is a one-hour trial, from RM50. The fee is agreed before you book.
  • Happy with the teacher? Continue with lessons of about 1.5 hours. If not, ask for another teacher.
