Official exam preparation checklist

You are not sure what to confirm officially and what to prepare on your own.

This checklist helps SPM candidates sort the official tasks they must confirm from the preparation they can do themselves. It is most useful for private candidates, repeating candidates and adult returners, who handle more of the arrangements themselves than school candidates do.

Everything you enter stays on this device.

How do I use it?

  1. Choose your route, or leave it on not sure yet.
  2. For each official item, look up the answer on the official source.
  3. Write the name of that source and the date shown on it. The item then changes from “verification required” to “source recorded”.
  4. Tick the study and exam-day items as you finish them.
  5. Print the page if you want a paper copy.

How does it work?

The tool does not know current eligibility rules, registration deadlines, fees or document lists, and it does not guess them. Each official item starts as verification required. It changes only when you fill in both a source and a date.

Recording a source is only your own note, and the tool does not check it. Confirm again before you act, because official details can change. The study items need no source, so they are plain tick boxes.

What does an example look like?

This is a worked example. An adult returner chooses that route and sees nine official items. For the registration deadline, she types the official website she read and the date shown on its page. That item changes to source recorded, and the summary counts one of nine.

She then ticks the study item about listing her subjects and papers. The summary shows one study item ticked out of eight.

What can this tool not do?

It cannot register you, check whether you qualify or confirm any date or fee. It does not name the office for each route, because that needs official evidence. Read the official instructions or ask your school office.

How does it connect to the rest of the site?

The guide on private candidates and official registration information explains where to look. If you are sitting again, read repeating SPM and the available examination routes and returning to SPM as an adult learner. Near the exam, checking examination day instructions helps with the final week, and planning the next learning step after results looks further ahead.

To turn confirmed dates into a countdown, use the personal exam calendar. The one-hour trial class (from RM50) is there if you want a teacher’s help with revision.

Common questions

Does this tool tell me the registration deadline or fee?

No. The deadline, fee and eligibility rules change, so the tool leaves them blank and marks them as needing verification. You find them on the official source, then record where you found them.

Can this tool register me for SPM?

No. It is a planning aid, not a registration service. Registration is handled through the official channels, which you confirm with your school, Lembaga Peperiksaan or Bahagian Pembangunan Kurikulum.

Does it ask for my IC number or a portal password?

No. There is no field for an IC number, candidate number or password, and you should not type any of them into the notes. The tool keeps everything in your browser and sends nothing.

What if I do not know my route yet?

Choose the option for not being sure. You then see the study and exam-day checklist only, and you can pick a route later when you know it.

Once your official arrangements are confirmed, a one-to-one teacher can help you use the remaining weeks well, starting from the subjects that worry you most. The one-hour trial class (from RM50) is a first lesson where you can say which subject to begin with.

  • Online one-to-one lessons for your child with an experienced teacher.
  • Your first class is a one-hour trial, from RM50. The fee is agreed before you book.
  • Happy with the teacher? Continue with lessons of about 1.5 hours. If not, ask for another teacher.
