Who this tuition helps

Turath Arabic is learned through set passages, so the problems show up when you read.

  • Endings that seem random. The student sees different vowel endings but cannot say why.
  • Comprehension by guessing. Meaning comes from a few known words rather than the structure of the sentence.
  • Vocabulary without context. Words are memorised in lists and forgotten inside a passage.

A teacher reading alongside you can stop at one sentence and ask what each word is doing there.

What a lesson looks like: roles and endings

This is a worked example.

يَقْرَأُ الطَّالِبُ الْكِتَابَ

The teacher asks three questions in order.

  1. Which word is the action? yaqra’u, reads.
  2. Who does it? aṭ-ṭālibu, the student.
  3. What receives it? al-kitāba, the book.

The endings now have a reason. The doer takes a damma (ـُ) because it is the subject, and the thing acted upon takes a fatha (ـَ) because it is the object. Change the order to يَقْرَأُ الْكِتَابَ الطَّالِبُ and the endings stay the same, so the meaning survives a change in word order.

The student then tests it on a new sentence with a different verb and checks that the same endings appear. The skill is reading the role first, then expecting the ending. Practise it in explaining a grammatical relationship in a prescribed passage and using context and sentence structure to support comprehension.

What online lessons can and cannot do

Lessons suit grammar explanation, parsing practice, reading comprehension, vocabulary in context and answer writing. Voice calls allow reading aloud with correction.

Oral assessments, recitation exams and anything a school supervises remain with your school. Teachers follow your course content, and no teacher can promise a grade. Fluency grows with regular reading between lessons.

Do I need to know Arabic well already?

No fixed level is required. A student starting with gaps begins with the structures that appear in the course passages, and a stronger student can work on harder texts. Tell us where you are when you enquire, and the teacher adjusts.

How starting works

Message us on WhatsApp with your form and the passages or grammar points you find hardest. We assign an experienced teacher and agree the fee with you before the one-hour trial class (from RM50). After the trial you decide whether the teacher is a good fit, and you can ask for another teacher if not.

The trial lesson agenda builder helps you choose a passage to bring. How our online tuition works covers what follows.

Common questions

How is this different from ordinary Arabic lessons?

The teacher works from the passages and question style of your Turath Arabic course, so each grammar point is tied to what you will be examined on.

I can read aloud but cannot explain meaning. What will lessons do?

The teacher shows you how to use sentence structure and context to get the meaning: find the verb, find who does it, find what receives it. Then you explain a short passage in your own words.

Are spoken or recited components covered?

The teacher can coach pronunciation and reading fluency by voice. Any oral or recitation assessment is conducted by your school.

What is the cost after the trial?

The first class is a one-hour trial from RM50. The rate depends on the teacher and is the same hourly rate as that teacher's normal classes, and the fee is agreed before the trial. Lessons are usually about 1.5 hours per class.

Can lessons be given in Bahasa Melayu?

Yes. Lessons are in English or BM, with Arabic as the language of study, and the teacher explains clearly in whichever suits the student. Arabic examples stay in Arabic.

If Arabic passages feel like guesswork, a one-to-one lesson can trace each word's role until the endings make sense. Tell us your form and the passage types that trouble you. Parents usually arrange the trial.
