What does each source do?

The order matters. When a chat message contradicts an official page, the official page wins.
What is a five-step verification habit?
- Note the claim exactly as you heard it.
- Find the matching official page.
- Read the date on it and check it applies to your exam year.
- Copy the key line and the address into your record.
- If the page is silent, ask the school and write the answer with the date.
Picture this example. A student hears that a certain paper will be shorter. She finds nothing on the official pages, so she records “unverified” and keeps practising on the current format. Nothing is lost if the claim turns out wrong.
Why do rumours spread?
Exam season creates anxiety, and a confident-sounding message feels like certainty. Why predicted questions and paper-leak claims are unreliable shows why these claims cannot be trusted and what to do instead.
How do I keep my own record?
Make a small table with four columns: what I need to know, the official source, the date I checked and the answer. The official-exam preparation checklist has a version you can use, and the personal exam calendar stores dates on your device.
Re-check the record when the exam window approaches, because announcements can be updated after you first read them.
