When are SPM results announced?
The Ministry of Education sets the date each year, and it has fallen in different months in recent cycles. Read the SPM key dates hub and watch for the ministry’s announcement.
How do I check my SPM results?
In recent cycles the channels were as follows 1, so confirm them in the year’s announcement. The online checker is myresultspm.moe.gov.my, which needs your MyKad number and angka giliran and runs only on the announcement dates. The SMS service takes the format SPM, MyKad number, angka giliran, sent to 15888 during set times.
School candidates normally get their results from their school from 10.00 am on results day, and private candidates contact the state education department (Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri) where they registered 2. The online and SMS checkers are open only for a set period, announced each year 2.
What should I do on results day?
- Check your results through one channel and keep a copy of the slip.
- Note which subjects are passes, which are credits, and whether Bahasa Melayu and Sejarah are both passed.
- Compare the slip with the requirements of the courses you want, using how to check SPM subject requirements.
- Wait a day before any big decision.
A calm first week serves you better than a rushed one.
How does a results review work?
Lembaga Peperiksaan lists a review service called Semak Semula 3. The fee, the deadline and how to apply are set by LP and can change from year to year.
Check them on the Lembaga Peperiksaan site as soon as results are announced, because an application may have a deadline. A review is not a resit.
Can I resit a subject?
Yes. Lembaga Peperiksaan runs the SPM Ulangan with its own timetable and registration form 4. SPM Ulangan offers only three subjects, Bahasa Melayu, Matematik and Sejarah, and registration is through the SPPAT portal 6. Fees for resits and private entries vary.
Read repeating SPM and the routes available and private candidates and official registration before you register.
What if I am not sure what to do next?
Use planning your next learning step after results and the after-SPM pathways guide. A teacher can also look at one weak subject with you through the one-hour trial class (from RM50).
