Questions
1. Choose the correct character
我们要学会(辨/辩/辫)别网上的消息是真是假。
Answer
辨. The action is telling real from fake, so 辨别 is correct. 辩 means argue, and 辫 means braid.
2. Correct the character
他自已把房间收拾好了。
Answer
自己. The word means oneself, which uses 己. 已 belongs to 已经.
3. Does the idiom fit?
考试没及格后,小丽才开始认真复习,大家说这是亡羊补牢。
Answer
It fits. There was a loss first (failing), then a repair (studying hard). 亡羊补牢 describes fixing a problem after the loss.
4. Replace the idiom
他每天坚持锻炼,终于瘦了下来,这就是守株待兔。Is the idiom right? If not, suggest a fix.
Answer
Not right. 守株待兔 means waiting for luck without effort, and the student worked daily. A plain sentence such as 他每天坚持锻炼,终于瘦了下来 is better, or use an idiom about perseverance such as 持之以恒.
5. Split the run-on
我今天早上起来发现下雨了所以我没带伞就出门结果衣服都湿了。
Answer
Find three ideas: it rained, I went out without an umbrella, my clothes got wet. One version: 我今天早上起来,发现下雨了。我没带伞就出门,结果衣服都湿了。
6. Fix the connector
虽然今天很累,所以我还是完成了作业。
Answer
虽然 pairs with 但是 or 可是, not 所以. Corrected: 虽然今天很累,但是我还是完成了作业。
7. Fix the punctuation
我去超市买了, 牛奶. 面包. 鸡蛋和“水果”。
Answer
Use 顿号 for the list, Chinese marks, and no quotation marks for an ordinary noun: 我去超市买了牛奶、面包、鸡蛋和水果。
8. Edit for register
Rewrite this message to a principal: 校长,明天放假吗啦?
Answer
One good version: 校长您好,请问明天学校是否放假?谢谢您。The revision removes the spoken particle 啦, adds a polite greeting and uses a formal question form. Other wordings are fine if the tone matches.
