Our online one-to-one SPM Pendidikan Al-Quran dan Al-Sunnah tuition gives each student an experienced teacher assigned to them, with lessons on the text, its meaning and the written explanation. The first class is a one-hour trial from RM50.

Who this tuition helps

Three situations bring students to this subject.

  • Memorised, not explained. The student recalls the passage but cannot say what it teaches in the words a question needs.
  • Text and concept are separate. The student knows the passage and knows the concept, but does not join them in an answer.
  • Language gap. Arabic vocabulary or formal Malay makes the prescribed text harder to follow.

A one-to-one teacher can hear the student explain a passage aloud and notice which link is missing, then practise that link.

What a lesson looks like: from passage to explanation

This is an original way to structure one answer. The actual passage and source must come from the prescribed textbook, so the example below uses a pattern rather than quoting text.

Question pattern: Explain the lesson from the prescribed passage on honesty and give one example in daily life.

A weak answer writes the lesson only: “We must be honest.” The teacher breaks the answer into three parts.

Part What it does Student’s task
Context Says where the passage comes from and what it is about One sentence, from the textbook
Meaning States what it teaches in the student’s own words One sentence
Explanation Links the meaning to an example and says why it matters Two sentences

The teacher checks that the meaning matches the passage and that the example really illustrates it. Then the student rewrites the answer with all three parts. Next, the student repeats the method on a second passage.

This keeps the passage, the concept and the explanation apart so none is forgotten under exam pressure.

What one-to-one lessons can and cannot do

Lessons can clarify the prescribed text, organise recall and give feedback on written explanations. They work best when the student brings the answers that lost marks.

Recitation and any component assessed by the school stay at school. The teacher follows the curriculum and leaves personal religious guidance to the student’s own ustaz or ustazah.

Common questions

Does the teacher give personal religious rulings?

Lessons follow the school curriculum and the prescribed text. Personal religious questions belong with the student's own ustaz or ustazah or a qualified religious authority, and the teacher will say so courteously.

Can online lessons help with recitation assessed at school?

Online lessons focus on understanding, organised recall and written explanation. Recitation or any component assessed by the school, and anything needing a teacher in the room, stays at school.

My child finds the Arabic text hard. Is tuition suitable?

Yes. The teacher starts from the passage the student can already read and connects each part to its meaning, then to the explanation the question needs. Pace is set by the student.

How much does it cost?

The first class is a one-hour trial from RM50, and the rate depends on the teacher. The fee is agreed before the trial, and you book only if you are happy with it. Lessons are usually about 1.5 hours a class.

Which language are lessons taught in?

Lessons are in English or Bahasa Melayu, depending on the subject, and the teacher explains clearly in whichever suits the student. Tell us your preference when you enquire. Exam answers stay in the language the student writes the paper in.

If you can recall the text but your written explanation loses marks, a teacher can practise the link between passage, meaning and explanation with you. Tell us the form and the topic. Parents usually arrange the trial.
