Our online one-to-one SPM Asas Kelestarian tuition gives you an experienced teacher who helps you support a design or sustainability choice with evidence and clear criteria. The first class is a one-hour trial class (from RM50).

Who this tuition helps

Students of this subject care about the topic. Marks are lost in the way the case is made.

  • Claims without evidence. “Plastic is bad” is an opinion until something measurable sits behind it.
  • One-sided answers. The student names the benefit of a choice and forgets what it costs.
  • Investigation reports. Results are listed, but nobody says what they show.

A teacher working one-to-one can mark these habits in your own answer, sentence by sentence.

What a lesson looks like: testing an assumption

This is a worked example. The figures are invented to show the reasoning.

Claim: “A steel water bottle is more sustainable than disposable plastic bottles.”

The teacher asks for criteria first: materials used, number of uses, and cleaning needs. Then the student compares using a small table.

Criterion Steel bottle Disposable bottle
Material used to make one High Low
Uses before disposal (invented: 200 vs 1) 200 1
Extra need Washing water None

The teacher asks: is the claim always true? A steel bottle that is used twice and thrown away is worse on material. The student rewrites the claim: “A steel bottle is more sustainable once it replaces enough disposable bottles, because its larger material cost is shared over more uses.”

The revised sentence gives a condition, a reason and an honest trade-off. That is the pattern a supported choice needs. See distinguishing an assertion from supporting evidence and comparing design choices with explicit criteria to practise it free.

What online lessons can and cannot do

Lessons suit building criteria, weighing trade-offs, reading data tables and graphs, structuring written answers and planning an investigation.

Field observations, school projects, real measurements and any assessed practical work stay at school. A teacher can help you interpret what you collected but cannot collect it for you.

Do lessons need special equipment?

No. A notebook, your school notes and a stable connection are enough. If your school set a project, bring the brief so the teacher can read exactly what you are asked to show.

How starting works

In your WhatsApp message, give your form and a question or topic where you lost marks. We assign an experienced teacher and agree the fee with you before the one-hour trial class (from RM50). After the trial you decide whether the teacher is a good fit, and you can ask for another teacher if not.

The trial lesson agenda builder helps you choose what to bring. See how our online tuition works for the full process.

Common questions

Is Asas Kelestarian about memorising facts?

Facts matter, but the skill that earns marks is using them: stating a choice, giving evidence for it and weighing what is lost. Lessons spend most of their time on that reasoning.

Can the teacher help with the school investigation or project?

The teacher can help you plan a question, choose what to measure and explain results in writing. Collecting data and any supervised assessed work remain your own activity at school.

My opinions are strong but my answers are short. What changes?

You learn to separate an opinion from a claim that can be checked. The teacher asks for one piece of evidence per point and one reason it supports the point, which lengthens answers naturally.

What do lessons cost after the trial?

The first class is a one-hour trial from RM50. The rate depends on the teacher and is the same hourly rate as that teacher's normal classes, and the fee is agreed before the trial. Lessons are usually about 1.5 hours per class.

Which language are lessons taught in?

Lessons are in English or BM, depending on the subject, and the teacher explains clearly in whichever suits the student. Exam answers stay in the language of your paper.

If your sustainability answers sound sensible but get few marks, the missing piece is usually evidence and criteria. A one-to-one lesson trains that, so tell us your form and a question you lost marks on. Parents usually arrange the trial.
