Accuracy in Tamil means choosing the right word for the reader, avoiding confusable words, and editing spelling and punctuation. This area teaches all three and then how to keep words you meet.
It forms part of the SPM Bahasa Tamil learning guide and links to language practice and revision.
How do the lessons fit together?
Word choice comes first because it decides tone. Confusable words are next, since they are the hardest errors to see. Editing then catches what remains, and a review set stops old slips from returning.
- Choose vocabulary for purpose and audience.
- Distinguish commonly confused words.
- Edit spelling and punctuation.
- Build a contextual vocabulary review set.
What does choosing for the audience look like?
Both சொன்னார் and கூறினார் mean “said” for a respected person. The second is the more formal choice, so ஆசிரியர் கூறினார் suits a written report, while சொன்னார் sounds closer to speech.
Neither is wrong on its own. The mark is lost when the register does not match the task, for example a casual word inside a formal letter.
Who should start where?
If your writing feels too casual, start with lesson 1. If a teacher circles words that look right but mean something else, start with lesson 2. If your slips are small and repeated, begin at lesson 3 and then build the review set in lesson 4. Check your progress with the vocabulary and accuracy practice set.
