Our online one-to-one SPM Computer Science tuition gives each student an experienced teacher assigned to them, with lessons built on the algorithms and debugging problems that student struggles with. The first class is a one-hour trial class (from RM50), with the fee agreed before it starts.
Who does Computer Science tuition help?
Computer Science students lose marks in patterns that look different from those in other subjects.
- Tracing. The student follows the loop but forgets which value the variable holds at step three.
- Debugging. A program is almost right, and the student changes three lines at once without knowing which mattered.
- Turning a problem into steps. The idea is clear in the head but the ordered algorithm is not.
A strong student aiming for an A may want exam-style explanations kept precise, while a student who is behind may need loops and conditions rebuilt from the start.
What does a lesson look like?
Here is an original debugging example. A student writes code to add the first five whole numbers.
total ← 0 FOR i ← 1 TO 4 total ← total + i NEXT i OUTPUT total
The output is 10, but the student expected 15. The teacher does not point to the loop. Instead, the teacher asks the student to fill in the trace table.
| i | total after |
|---|---|
| 1 | 1 |
| 2 | 3 |
| 3 | 6 |
| 4 | 10 |
The table shows i never reaches 5. The loop should run to 5, and the student discovers this from the evidence. This is called an off-by-one error, and the skill is reading a trace before editing code.
What can one-to-one lessons do, and where are the limits?
Lessons can rebuild understanding, practise exam-style tracing and give quick feedback on your reasoning. The teacher can follow your reasoning while you work through a question.
Practical programming assessed at school is still done by you, and the teacher does not write assessed code.
How does starting work?
- Message us on WhatsApp with your form and the topic that feels hardest.
- We assign an experienced teacher and arrange the one-hour trial class (from RM50), with the fee agreed first.
- After the trial, you decide whether the teacher is a good fit, and can ask for another teacher if not.
Not sure where to begin? The prerequisite gap finder points to the small skill behind a recurring mistake, and the after-trial reflection checklist helps you decide what to do next. Choosing a lesson focus explains how to pick the first topic.
